Acts Week 7- It’s Mary Shannon
This week, Shannon (almost) finished Acts 2. She encourages her listeners to be does of the word, just as the disciples set out to do after the ascension of Jesus. Because of their faith and kingdom attitude, the apostles began their mission to spread the gospel all over the world.
Acts Week 6- It’s Mary Shannon
Shannon continues in Acts two with a recounting of Pentecost and the 12 disciples as they begin their gospel message. She references David while speaks, and discusses a few Psalms, that are often referred to in the New Testament. David reminds us that death does not get the last word, Amen?
Acts Week 5- It’s Mary Shannon
Shannon continues to address what's happening in Acts 2, focusing on Pentecost and how that translates to our life with the Holy Spirit. She makes several connections to the Old Testament, and once again shows her audience that the Bible is one beautifully scripted story from the beginning to end.
Acts Week 3- It’s Mary Shannon
Shannon finishes Acts 1 focusing on the disciplines gathering in the upper room after Jesus ascension, which is often overlooked in churches. She discusses the emotions of the disciples, the power of Peter's references to the Psalms, and helps her listeners to understand the purpose of emotion in the scriptures.
Acts Week 2- It’s Mary Shannon
Shannon continues with her introduction of Acts, teaching some of the foundations of the book, reminding her audience that Jesus is the fulfillment of scripture, and informs them on historical and cultural contexts in the book.
The Book of Daniel (Week 21)
